Walking into this, I figured I wouldn't be riding even though I have riding experience. Horse-riding injuries can be really severe and she didn't want to risk it. I assumed I'd be doing cleaning and helping take care of the horses the majority of the day, which was pretty much true. I also thought I'd be watching a few lessons.
Reflection:
It's pretty much what I expected it to be. I went to the farm and helped with spring cleaning, and also helped train and exercise horses. It was really hot, but other than that it was a good day. Patty Morton, my mentor, bought me a donut and a drink while we were doing laundry for spring cleaning, and enjoyed being around horses again. Lunging horses around the paddock and over the cavalettis in the paddock. Her dog's also trailed after me the entire day, and it helped that they were really cute. At the end of the day, I watched one of the afternoon lessons. Overall it was a good day and I learned a lot.
